This weekend the elite of the Hill Climb competitors will gather in Portugal for the 4th edition FIA Hill Climb Masters, which will be held in Braga. Postponed from 2020 to 2021 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, the FIA Hill Climb Masters has attracted an impressive 158 entries and will take place on 7-10 October.

THE COURSE
The course of the 2021 FIA Masters will follow the first 3 kilometres of the famous „Rampa da Falperra“, registered in the European Championship since 1978.
The competitors‘ servicing park will be placed at the top, on the esplanade of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Sameiro, a site dating from the 19th century.

There are four categories at the 2021 FIA Hill Climb Masters. These are –
FIA CATEGORY 1 – FIA Closed Cars – 64 Entries
The competition is open to cars holding a –
Performance Factor (Pf) Technical Sheet
A national technical passport
Complying with the technical prescriptions of Appendix 3 of the Sporting Regulations
Category 1 is split into 5 groups depending on the Pf rating of the car.
Group 1 – Pf 15 to 39 – 11 entries
Group 2 – Pf 40 to 79 – 14 entries
Group 3 – Pf 80 to 119 – 14 entries
Group 4 – Pf 120 to 159 – 10 entries
Group 5 – Pf > 159 – 15 entries
FIA CATEGORY 2 – FIA Competition Cars – 35 Entries
The competition is open to cars that –
Hold a national technical passport
Comply with the prescriptions of the Appendix J
Category 2 is split into three groups
Group D/E2-SS (Single Seater) – International Formula or Free Formula single-seater racing cars with a cylinder capacity of 3000cm³ or below.

Group CN – Two-seater Production Sports Cars, open or closed, with a cylinder capacity of 3000cm³ or below

Group E2-SC (Sports Car) – Two-seater racing cars, open or closed, with a cylinder capacity of 3000cm³ or below.

CATEGORY 3 – Open “Production Cars” – 26 Entries
Closed cars (Touring cars and GT cars) that do not satisfy the technical prescriptions of Appendix 3 to the Sporting Regulations, but which strictly comply with the national regulations of their ASN. These cars must not have been registered in a Pf group for an FIA, ASN or Zone Competition.
CATEGORY 4 – Open “Competition Cars” – 33 Entries
Group OpenSC (“OpSC”) – Two-seater competition cars, open or closed, which do not satisfy the prescriptions of Appendix J, but which strictly comply with the national regulations of their ASN.

Group OpenSS (“OpSS”) – Single-seater racing cars which do not satisfy the prescriptions of Appendix J, but which strictly comply with the national regulations of their ASN.

ABOUT BRAGA
Braga is a city and municipality situated in the historical and cultural Portuguese province of Minho. With a population of nearly 200,000, Braga is the seventh largest city in Portugal and with an area of 183.40 km2 it is the third-largest urban centre in Portugal after Lisbon and Porto.

PRESENTATION DES FIA HILL CLIMB MASTERS
Ce week-end, l’élite des pilotes de courses de côte se rretrouvera au Portugal pour la 4e édition des FIA Hill Climb Masters, qui se tiendra à Braga. Reportée de 2020 à 2021 en raison de la pandémie de Covid-19, l’épreuve a attiré un nombre impressionnant de 158 engagés et se déroulera du 7 au 10 octobre.

LE PARCOURS
Le parcours des FIA Masters 2021 suivra les 3 premiers kilomètres de la célèbre „Rampa da Falperra“, inscrite au Championnat d’Europe depuis 1978.
Le parc d’assistance des concurrents sera placé au sommet, sur l’esplanade du Sanctuaire de Notre Dame de Sameiro, un site datant du 19ème siècle.

Voitures fermées (voitures de Tourisme et GT) ne répondant pas aux prescriptions techniques de l’Annexe 3 au présent Règlement Sportif, mais strictement conformes à la réglementation nationale de leur ASN. Ces voitures ne doivent pas avoir été inscrites en Compétition FIA, ASN ou de Zone dans un groupe Pf.
CATEGORIE 4 – Open “Voitures de Compétition” – 33 inscrits
Group OpenSC (“OpSC”) – Voitures de compétition biplaces, ouvertes ou fermées, ne répondant pas aux prescriptions de l’Annexe J, mais strictement conformes à la réglementation nationale de leur ASN.

A PROPOS DE BRAGA
Braga est une ville et une municipalité située dans la province portugaise historique et culturelle du Minho. Avec une population de près de 200 000 habitants, Braga est la septième plus grande ville du Portugal et, avec une superficie de 183,40 km2, elle est le troisième plus grand centre urbain du Portugal après Lisbonne et Porto.
